Tourist Visa Requirements for China

U.S. citizens who have valid passports are required to have a visa. Non U.S. citizens should select the FAQ option on the top menu bar to see if a visa is necessary.

Important: The consulates we will obtain your visa from will only accept forms available from FastPort Passport. If you download a form from another web site it will result in a rejected visa.

Business Visa Requirements for China

1. Determine Eligibility

A business (“F”) visa is applicable if you are traveling to China for any of the following reasons:

1. Invitation to China for a visit, an investigation, a lecture, or to do business.
2. Scientific-technological and culture exchanges
3. Advanced studies or internship for a period of no more than 6 months

2. Submit Valid Passport

You must send your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least one blank visa page for the visa stamp. (The last three pages of the passport are not visa pages and cannot be counted as such.) If your passport does not meet these requirements, click here to see our passport services.

3. Complete Visa Application Form (click here)

Fill in your application completely.
• Sign your application
• One form per applicant is required.
• If you are of Chinese decent be sure to fill in your Chinese Name in the Chinese Characters.
• IMPORTANT: If you are traveling into Tibet you need special approval - CLICK HERE for details.

4. Submit Passport Photographs

You must provide one recent 2"x2" passport photo. Click here for photo requirements and where to have passport photos taken. Snapshots, vending machine photographs and digital photographs taken by the applicant are not acceptable.

5. Submit Travel Documentation

You must provide a copy of your round-trip ticket or a booked itinerary showing travel to and from China (confirming the purchase of the ticket, with passenger’s name, itinerary, flight number and arrival/departure dates).

6. Submit Letter of Invitation

You must submit an invitation letter from the host company or unit in China, or a letter from your company
You may apply for a Multiple Entry “F” Visa (valid for 24 months) if:
1. You submit documents which certify you have made an investment in China, or have established a collaboration with a Chinese company. For example, a business license, contracts, letter of appointment, etc.; or
2. You have visited China at least twice with the "F" visa within the past 12 months, or have been issued a multi-entry "F" visa. In either case, you submit a copy of the visa(s)

7. For Non-U.S. Passport Holders

You must provide a copy of both sides of your U.S. Permanent Resident Card (green card) or your U.S. re-entry visa. If you do not have these, you must provide a copy of a visa to the country of final destination after the trip to. This requirement does not apply to applicants returning to their country of citizenship.

8. Prepare Check or Money Order for Consulate Fee

Submit a U.S. Postal Service money order or check payable to the Consulate of China.

9. Customer Order Form• Complete and submit the FastPort Passport Customer Order Form online. Once you have submitted the form, print a copy and send it along with rest of the documents to FastPort Passport. If the service fee is by credit card, make sure to sign the printed customer form.
