Visa Validity Extended for China and U.S. Visas
As of today, the United States and China will increase the validity of visas issued for each other’s citizens. U.S. citizens eligible for short term business and tourist visas to China will receive multiple entry visas valid for up to ten years. U.S. students that qualify will be eligible for residency permits valid up to five years. The goal of the visa extension program is to increase travel and cultural exchanges, and to benefit both the U.S. and Chinese economies. The new visa extension program will not affect visa eligivility. The basic visa processing fee remains the same as well: $160.

The new Visa Validity Extension for China and U.S. visas will make the visa process more economical for travelers. Previously, American and Chinese travelers for business and tourism had to apply every year. Additionally, students that leave the country will not be required to re-apply for a new visa in order to come back to school. For business relations, this is great because most foreign investment activity in the U.S. is done through the standard business and tourist visas. Additionally, Chinese citizens are the largest group of foreign students studying in the United States. For further information, please visit http://beijing.usembassy-china.org.cn
