Traveling on the 4th of July?
We Can Get Your Passport!
For those of you who are traveling internationally on the 4th of July and are in need of a new adult’s, new child’s, or renewed passport by that day, Fastport Passport can still get your new or renewed passport to you in time for your trip!
If you are 16 or older and have never had a passport before, or have had a child’s passport that is expired, you will place your order with us for a New U.S. Passport and choose our 1, 2, or 3-4 Business Day Service (depending on how close to the 4th of July you place your order!). Once you’ve placed your order with us, this clear instructional checklist will arrive to your email inbox. If you have ordered a passport for a child 15 years of age or under, you will receive this instructional checklist.
To obtain an expedited passport through Fastport Passport, you will have to send in to us:
- Applicant’s ORIGINAL birth certificate
- The signed and adjudicated DS-11, or Application for a New U.S. Passport
- 2 copies of the Fastport Passport Authorization Form
- A check made out to the U.S. Department of State for $170 ($140 for children’s passports)
- 2 copies of the applicant’s confirmation of international travel plans within 14 days (i.e., an airline itinerary, or hotel reservations. Proof of travel must include the applicant’s name, date leaving the U.S., and destination country)
- Applicant’s old passport (if available)
- Applicant’s ORIGINAL marriage certificate if married, or ORIGINAL divorce decree if divorced
You will bring all of the above documents to your local post office or county clerk’s office and sign the DS-11 in front of a governmental acceptance agent. In the case of a child 15 and under, the DS-11 must be signed by both parents in front of the agent. If one parent cannot be present, please see our previous blog on how to circumvent this problem.
Once you have signed the application in front of the acceptance agent, the agent will put all of your documents into an envelope with an official seal. Please keep in mind that you must keep 1 copy of your Fastport Passport Authorization Form and 1 copy of the applicant’s international travel itinerary outside of the officially sealed adjudicated envelope from the acceptance agent. You will then take the sealed envelope, the Authorization Form, and the international travel itinerary to your local FedEx location and put all three items into a FedEx envelope and send it to our Coney Island Avenue location via FedEx Priority Overnight shipping.
There is still time to get your passport before the 4th of July! Call or visit us from 9am-5pm on Monday through Friday for assistance, questions, or to place an order; OR visit our website to chat online live with a passport expediting specialist.
